Bog Factor

The Bog Factor | F.A.Q

How is the competition run?
We will have seven rounds of heats where 5-6 performers will showcase their talent.
Each week the contestant with the highest votes, and the Venue Managers choice will go through to the semi-finals will go through to the semi finals held on August 25th & September 1st. In the semi-finals and finals week (8th September) we will have a judge appointed who is a local musician.
They will base their decision on popularity, talent and appropriate material for The Bog. They use a
marking schedule provided so this is not a personal preference judge.

The winner of The Bog Factor 2021 will be decided by the most votes on the night, judges points and if a tie is struck, a final decision made by our Venue Manager and judge.

Can I play backing tracks/originals?
We understand that a lot of our contestants are more comfortable using backing tracks and playing original music. We are okay with this for the heats but from semi-finals and finals it must be instruments only and covers only. This is your most likely way to win. We have other opportunities available for original acts, enquire with Elly today.

Who can be in The Bog Factor?
Anyone who is musically gifted with some experience. We are excited to offer a platform for those who
wish to take their music experience further. If you or your group can play at least 20 minutes’ worth of
material for this event then you’re all set! Don’t forget to send us a video, it’s a vital part of our audition process.

Bog’s Facebook and Instagram to promote you performing. Please share this with your friends and
family, you need their support if you want to win!
